Empowering Ottawa Residents with EV Expertise
Jeff is a volunteer EV Educator with the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO). EVCO, in collaboration with Ottawa's EnviroCentre, raises awareness and provides hands-on experience with electric vehicles to accelerate the adoption of EVs.
- EV Education: informative sessions to educate Ottawa and regional residents about the benefits of electric vehicles.
- Test Drive Events: interactive test drive events, allowing participants to experience the thrill of driving electric. These events help dispel myths, build confidence in EV technology, and have resulted in many EV purchase decisions.
- Product Knowledge: comprehensive information about various electric vehicle models and their features, an up-to-date buyer's guide, tips on EV charging, and many myths displaced by the truth
Promoting the adoption of electric vehicles contributes to a greener and more sustainable community.
Queen's University Guest Lecturer on the Transition to EVs
Dismantling Popular EV Myths One at a Time
Jeff is a guest lecturer at Queen's University, educating and inspiring curious minds about the transition to EVs. The lecture series includes:
- How an EV works: motors and regenerative braking, one-pedal driving, vehicle-to-load (power your home with your car!), the charging puzzle explained, autonomous driving, range and battery capacity, direct comparisons with gas/diesel vehicles (no contest!)
- EV Market Trends: government mandates, insights into the current state of the electric vehicle market, and the technological advancements that will continue to blow minds in the coming years.
- Sustainability and Mobility: the importance of sustainability in transportation and the life-cycle environmental footprint of electric vehicles.

Jeff has manned the Natural Resources Canada electric vehicle trade show booth at various events;
- Exhibition and Demonstration: Showcasing the latest electric vehicle models and chargers, offering attendees the opportunity to explore the vehicles and ask questions.
- Policies and Incentives: Information on government EV incentives and policies in support of EV adoption.
- Education: Educating the public about EV myths, answering their questions and providing them a glimpse into the lived reality of owning an EV.
